!There are a few basic elements of an initial hypnotherapy session:

  1. Count-down to Trance, usually backward from 5
  2. Visualization, in which I ask you to imagine a place of tranquility and beauty, or regress to a specific moment in time.
  3. Peaceful Environment/Experience, in which you will put yourself there, whether it be a place or a moment in time.  This is the stage where you will be in a state of total relaxation and more able to find the answers within yourself.
  4. Affirmations – Throughout your session, we may discuss and affirm your realizations with positive reinforcement.  Although affirmations may not be required in all sessions, they are part of the process of “re-programming” subconscious emotions and beliefs by bringing them to your conscious mind’s attention.
  5. Terminology – Your terms will be used during your sessions.  Language can be a bit subjective, so it is important to use phrases, terms, and images which make sense to YOU.

Subsequent sessions may often deal with the past, in which case, we will journey back to the original sensitizing event, which is then resolved from that age perspective to bring forward a resolution in present time.
